The use of statements by children alleging sexual abuse requires forethought and an understanding of the rules of court that govern these statements. This CLE will explore and explain the significance of Virginia Code Section 19.2-268.3 and Supreme Court Rule 2:802, which allows for the admissibility in hearings of statements made by children alleging sexual abuse in violation of enumerated statutes if certain other conditions are met.
