The Poverty
Simulation is an interactive immersion experience designed to sensitize
community participants to the realities of poverty. Participants are given a
dollar amount at the beginning of the simulation and get to see firsthand how
quickly that money is depleted and how the lack of money impacts the person,
the family, and the community. Volunteers play the roles of essential community
services. The session consists of an introduction, four 15-minute interactive
segments, and then a wrap-up discussion. Lawyers and nonlawyers welcome! MCLE
credit pending.
